The Community

The bigger picture: 

looking at the residential area and its composition. 

       name: sipcot

       place: hosur, Tamilnadu

amenities: school, a community hall, 

                  two departmental stores, play area, a club house

                  a temple (close by). 

                 since there is a lake near by, the breeze towards the houses in the area is enhanced.

My interpretation of spaces :

Cozy spaces, warm fuzzy ones,crowded and barren ones, mazes, bright ones,dark scary ones. all of them are associated with distinct feelings, the spaces below are in relation to the feeling I would relate to each type of the spaces.  

spaces according to me is not only created by the existence of physical barriers like walls , it can also be defined with play of light and shadow, the usage of voids among solids, levels, concentric nature of solid geometry.

The Start

 I'm in the fourth semester of my 10 semester journey (3 down 7 more to go) , after a semester of abstractions, observing urban spaces- object city, and another of understanding public,private and semi-private spaces.
This sem we've been introduced to housing.
*yaaay finally housing* I've been looking forward to this quite a bit.
HOME, basically a place to which u relate to , tons of feelings and the memories locked inside. so home is a space in which one is at utmost comfort.

 As they say- "make urself at home" :) .
